In order to get overview about education systems in European Union countries with emphasize on doctoral education and to see facilities of universities, as well as to continue ongoing activities of MODEST project, from 17th of June till 12th of July, 2019, there are planned several visits of project participants to Finland, Latvia, United Kingdom and Poland.

The first meeting will take place in Finland at Helsinki University (from 17th till 18th of June, 2019). After Helsinki meeting partners will gather in Latvia, in Riga (from 19th till 21st of June, 2019), then from  1st till 2nd of July, 2019 there will be a meeting in United Kingdom, in London at Brunel University. Last meeting in will be held in Poland, Krakow from 8th till 12th of July, 2019.

During all visits there will be:

- introduction on education systems in EU countries (with emphasize on doctoral education);

- site visits to EU partner universities facilities (laboratories, central units etc.);

- training on soft skills for Partner Countries staff;

- presentations from Partner Countries about WP1 “Analysis of doctoral education in Science in European Higher Education Area  and Partner Countries and soft skills intensive training courses”.

Moreover during Riga meeting there will be also the regular MODEST consortium meeting, however, in Krakow involved parties will sum up work on WP1 about “Analysis of doctoral education in Science in European Higher Education Area  and Partner Countries and soft skills intensive training courses”.

MODEST is a three-year project which aims at modernization of doctoral education in science in partner countries. Wider project objective is to enhance cooperation capacities of Higher educational institutions of Partner Countries in the field of Doctoral Studies within European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and European Research Area (ERA).

The MODEST project aims to improve the quality of postgraduate studies in engineering by modernizing the curriculum, optimizing the work of postgraduate students, enhancing the supervision of their scientific research and increasing academic mobility.

To achieve the sustainable results, it is planned to develop web-platforms and virtual network environment using various approaches and information and communication methodologies.
